what is the pan head you are attaching at 6:41? I was interested in getting this tripod for a long trip where I'm trying to be efficient with packing, but I mostly use a spotting scope for bird watching which works best with a pan head. I would however like to drop the pan head and spotting scope occasionally and quickly mount the camera on this same tripod. I tried this tripod out at the store and it works nice with a camera, but the folks at the store couldn't fix me up with a quick attach fluid pan head for arca plate.

I think im gonna get this for long term use content creation.

I really didn't like the Zf because the controls are mish-mashy, but it's turning out to be a really great manual lens monster.

The marking quality issue is a real problem actually. With recent Chinese manufacturer releasing really affordable lens (which is great), but the marking is a bit off. Manual focus depend quite a lot with the focus marking, mainly when you're outdoor and focus peaking becomes quite hard. It's faster to setup your zone focusing and use the distance scale. My TTartisan lens also suffer the same issue. Overtime you could get used to it, when you know your lens better, but still.. it's quite annoying..

If I wanted a Nikkor look-alike, I’d get a Nikkor or newer Cosina. Not something called Nonikkor.

well, it was kind of unfair in the overheating because you were charging a nearly dead battery while recording. It's not a common scenario. In real life, people would most likely switch to a new battery than run off USB power. If you have USB power from the beginning, it will also not result in overheating because at that point, you are trickle charging the battery. But you waited until you ran out of battery before charging while still wanting to record. Even phones and laptops will get very hot while charging from low charge.

About the depth of field meter. It is the same with most of the manual lens brands. Because we need to give some buffer, if we do it just right, due to different camera body have different minor difference, it will be out of focus if we use it on different camera body during we shoot in infinity. So we will set it over, instead of set it just right.

7artisans 35mm f/1.4 Z mount is half price of this lens. I suspect that they have a very similar optic formula. It also looks better than the "nonikon" in my opinion.

Canon has released cameras...and people say "there's no lenses for that.." Panasonic has released cameras...and people say, "there's no lenses for that." And even here, it is said..."Nikon doesn't have any lenses for that." I would assume, lenses are on the way. All manufacturers bring lenses eventually, and it probably keeps the conversations going, re-ignites the camera sales.

I like the Voigtlander FF lenses better for the Z system. Plus, the Voigtlander lenses have electronic contacts.

the exact reason why nikon did not got my money. I LOVE the sgima I series small primes for their desing and quality, look gorgeous on y a7cii. there is an adaptor for e-z, id be curious as i find the Zf so pretty!!!

The ZFc would definitely have been more successful with a line of lenses that aesthetically matches. The ZF seems more successful in part because you can adapt any 35mm retro lenses without a crop and it’s a great camera for that. This is why it doesn’t make much sense for companies to keep splitting their efforts between apsc and full frame if they’re just going to half ass both of them. Even Sony doesn’t have a lot of great apsc glass, better than Nikon and canon but apsc is always an afterthought for these companies so why buy an apsc camera from them? Fuji is completely avoiding the full frame market and as a result they have a really comprehensive apsc lineup with excellent lenses, and then they have medium format which they’ve been doing pretty well too. No one really wants to buy full frame lenses for their apsc cameras, in part because they tend to be larger than comparable apsc lenses but also because the prices tend to be higher for full frame lenses. Apsc has advantages, for event photography for example it’s really nice to be able to shoot at f1.4 and still have more than the subject’s eyelashes be in focus, smaller potential lenses, more affordable lenses, smaller bodies and the dynamic range difference at this point is pretty negligible imo. I was super interested in the zfc until I realized Nikon would never make another lens for it.
